Description

Not a fan of kale? We think you should give our Red Kale microgreens a go - they have all the nutritional punch of mature Red Kale but without the bitterness! They're known for their deep yet vibrant reddish-purple leaves.

FLAVOUR:

Nutty, mild and slightly peppery.

The flavour is softer and gentler than mature kale — and without the bitterness.

USE ME IN:

Red Kale sprouts are delicious in wraps and sandwiches. Great as a salad base and blended into smoothies. A versatile microgreen for adding a bit of colour to your dishes.

NUTRITION:

Great source of antioxidants, vitamins A, C, and K, iron, and copper.  They're a great pick if you're looking to add more nutrients to your diet in a super simple way.

GROW INFO:

    FAQs

What is the optimum growing temperature?

Microgreens can be grown indoors all year round and temperature plays a major role in how quickly microgreens grow.

Generally, between 18–24 degrees celcius is optimal.

Below 12 degrees and the microgreens will struggle to germinate and above 25 degrees they're may get too hot and start "cooking" the seeds.

Do the microgreens re-grow once harvested?

Each seedmat is single-use and will not re-grow once harvested. When you have finished a mat, you'll need to start a new seedmat.

Pod tip: you can throw the used mat into your garden and you'll soon find vegetables will start popping up from the slower growing seeds!

Can I use my own seeds?

You can use your own seeds on our growmats, but not the seedmats.

Our SEEDMATS come pre-loaded with over 440 microgreen seeds per mat as well as a touch of plant nutrients to help them grow lush and tasty. Because they are already seeded, you can't use your own seeds.

Our latest GROWMATS however, do allow you to use your own seeds. They are jute fiber and nutrient-infused for optimum microgreen growth. Use with our range of seeds, or sprinkle your own favourites!

    Winter Greens Without The Mud

When it's cold and wet outside but you need some fresh greens on your plate, Micropod sprouts are the answer. Ideally, have two trays, so you always have a crop ready to harvest.
